The core of MS-07 lies in dealing with the complex phenomena caused by "asymmetry", namely the bending center (shear center), principal axis direction, and bending torsion coupling effect. It is a key equipment for understanding why common profiles such as channel steel, angle steel, and Z-shaped steel are prone to torsion under stress.

Bending center determination (core function): ①Verification: When the lateral load line passes through the bending center of the section, the beam only undergoes planar bending and does not produce torsion. Verification: When the load line deviates from the bending center, the beam will undergo both bending and torsion (bending torsion coupling) simultaneously.

Verification of Principal Axes: ①For asymmetric cross-sections, the neutral axis may not necessarily be perpendicular to the loading surface. ②The experiment can demonstrate that only when the load is applied along the direction of the principal axis of inertia, the deflection curve is located within the plane of the load (plane bending). If the load is not applied along the main axis, the beam will undergo oblique bending (deflection direction is not consistent with the load direction).
