Building Practical Fluid Mechanics Education at Moutai University
This article introduces the newly‑delivered suite of fluid mechanics laboratory equipment for Moutai University. The lab setup includes Osborne Reynolds Apparatus, Fluid Friction Apparatus, Digital Hydraulic Bench, Venturi cavitation unit, flow meter calibration device, flow field demonstration and vortex apparatus. These experimental systems enable mechanical, civil, hydraulic and energy‑power engineering students to conduct hands‑on tests covering pipe flow, fluid friction, head loss, cavitation, flow measurement and vortex phenomena. By combining theoretical knowledge with real‑world observation, measurement, computation and data analysis, the laboratory strengthens students’ practical engineering capabilities and builds a complete practical teaching environment for fluid mechanics courses.

Tsinghua University has received the H501 Small Water Tunnel Test Platform for hands‑on fluid mechanics laboratory teaching. This low‑turbulence experimental setup enables flow visualisation, boundary‑layer testing, cavitation analysis as well as fluid drag and lift measurement. Compatible with a full suite of fluid‑mechanics teaching instruments, the platform serves mechanical, aerospace, civil and marine engineering students, bridging fluid‑mechanics theory and real‑world lab measurement and research work.
Learn MoreMicroNewton supplied the H012 flow field visualization experimental device to Peking University College of Engineering. This self‑circulating desktop water‑channel system uses the hydrogen‑bubble visualization method. It supports boundary‑layer separation, Karman vortex street, two‑dimensional flow and laminar‑turbulent transition experiments, helping students observe invisible fluid motion and deepen understanding of core fluid‑mechanics theories.
